about me
My name is Miette Visneau, a Dallas native now based in New York, where I attend Marist University. I am pursuing a degree in Fashion Merchandising with a concentration in Promotion, along with minors in Art History and Global Studies.
Outside of the classroom and my professional work, I enjoy reading, shooting film photography, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and practicing Pilates and yoga sculpt. These interests keep me curious and grounded while continually inspiring fresh perspectives and creativity that I bring into both my academic and professional pursuits.
FASHION EDUCATION
Fashion has always been at the heart of my academic journey, shaping both my studies and the professional opportunities I’ve pursued. At Marist University, I was deeply involved in the Fashion Program, gaining hands-on experience across planning, production, and leadership.
In recognition of my commitment to excellence, I was named a Presidential Scholar and consistently earned Dean’s List honors each semester, reflecting my dedication to both academic achievement and the fashion industry.
Marist fashion’s annual silver needle runway
In my junior and senior year at Marist, I was a part of Silver Needle Runway, Marist’s premier student-run annual fashion show.
I first served as Wardrobe Production Assistant for SNR39 and then stepped into the position of Director of Wardrobe & Collection Operations for the 40th annual show.
As a director, I lead and coordinated a team of 7 to oversee fittings, garment preparation, and backstage organization for 32 senior designers and 132 runway looks. This role taught me so much about myself, and I learned that being a good leader means showing up for your team, staying adaptable under pressure, and creating an environment where people feel supported and valued.
international experience
Travel has always been one of my greatest passions, and during college I had the opportunity to study abroad in Greece, Paris, and London. These experiences allowed me to translate what I was learning in the classroom into real-world context through field studies and hands-on learning, something that became one of the most formative parts of my college career. Being just steps away from some of the world’s most iconic museums, fashion houses, and historic landmarks deeply shaped my academic perspective and creative outlook.
Together, these experiences have strengthened my passion for fashion and continue to inspire my goal of building a career that allows me to live and work internationally.
